Sarawak Trip

Today is Christmas but I will be posting stuff regarding my most recent trip. We traveled from Kuching to Sibu and stayed one night there before going to Miri. Then from Miri, we traveled down to Bintulu, Sarikei and Sri Aman (including some small towns).

Miri

One thing I like about Miri is the traffic system. They provide two lanes for driving and two lanes for parking in the middle of the city. In some area they even have four lanes for driving and we don't even get that in Kuching. The standard of living there is quite high, I think slightly higher than Kuching because they wanna suck the money from the people from Brunei. The only thing bad about Miri is that it's not really safe at night.



This is the first oil well in Malaysia named 'Grand Old Lady' taken from the Petroleum Museum on Canada Hill in Miri. Click here for more infos about Grand Old Lady.


Actually wanted to visit the museum but it was closed.


This is Luak Esplanade, a beach near the city. There's alot of very huge bungalows here. Each house has like minimum of two acres land and some is approximately three to four acres. Our CM's house is nothing compared to the houses there.


Land for sale, anyone interested? RM1.3 mil for 0.98 acres + seaside view + approved for luxurious bungalow up to 163X183 feet + private jetty for 32 feet boat.


This is some rich guy's villa near the shore, I think it's at the opposite island.


The only thing you can see when you drive from Miri to Bintulu is palm trees. Imagine driving three hours seeing palm trees only. I heard most timber tycoons are planting palm trees now because not much timber is left and most of them are stealing timber from Indonesia anyway.


Gah freaking palm trees again.

Bintulu

This is Shell MDS plant in Tanjung Kidurong, Bintulu. You can see the fire burning from the city at night. Looks cool at night, it's like the sky is burning.


This is SESCO's powerstation in Tanjung Kidurong, Bintulu. It is powered by gas supplied from Shell MDS and generates about 100MW per that long dildo-looking thing (if I'm not mistaken).


This is ASEAN Bintulu Fertilizer Sdn Bhd's building. It's shaped like a ship if you notice. The greyish building beside it is Bintulu Port where you can see lots and lots of containers there.


This is our local cowboy wannabe spotted outside of Regency Hotel, Bintulu. Basically, they wear whatever a cowboy would wear. The horses stinks like shit though. I think I've seen this guy riding his horse near Poh Kwong Park before.


I went to the Bintulu National Park also. Quite alot of stuff to see, they have birds, reptiles, tigers, lions, plants and etc.


This is another species of hornbill, it's called Black Hornbill. The horn and the beak is white.


Too bad the peacock didn't spread out its feathers.


I only saw this tiger though. They suppose to have two lions donated by Sultan Of Johor or something but I didn't see the lions. I heard there was one case where a kid dropped into the compound of this tiger and gg'ed before the tiger was moved here. The place was like observers stand on higher ground and some stupid parents put his kid sitting on the wall and accidentally dropped the kid.


Lotsa lotsa deersss. They call it Mount Deer here.


By the way, the deers smell like shit also.


This is Sea Eagle. I think I like this kind of eagles the most.


This is the kind of eagle shown in Winston cigarettes' advertisements.

These are flamingos in case you don't know.

A flamingo that is well-fed and healthy is vibrantly coloured bright pink and is more desirable as a mate. A white or pale flamingo, however, is usually unhealthy or suffering from a lack of food. -Wikipedia-

All I could see was pale white flamingos there. Our national park is really 'keng'. No wonder animals are dying.


This is the Stone God situated middle of the road from Bintulu to Miri. Rumour has it that this huge rock was blocking the way when they build the road so they wanted to demolish it. But somehow bulldozers stalled when it touched the rock and dynamites remained unexploded when ignited. You can actually see a shape of a frog from this angle.


You can see how much Sarawakians love 4D based on the numbers written on the rock. The holes on the rock were actually the holes which they drilled to put in the dynamites. My dad told me that there was a time when one of his colleagues wrote a number on a piece of paper and threw it into the 'mouth' of the frog. Then, my dad told him that the frog eaten his number and it won't open even if he bought it and so my dad's friend felt discouraged and didn't buy the number. Somehow that number ended up in the 1st prize on that very night.

Sibu
I forgot to take pictures in Sibu. Nothing much there also, except that the food there usually is in larger portion compared to other towns. Typical Foochow style.

Sarikei
Basically there's nothing much in Sarikei. Only some shophouses and one Ngiukee. I went there to visit my granduncle.


This is Batang Ai Dam situated in Lubok Antu. The following pictures are taken in the SESCO compound which is no longer open for public. Only SESCO staffs are allowed to go in I think.


This is the main dam.


This is the spillway. When the water level rises too high, a siren will be sounded and the spillway will be opened to remove the excessive water. Then, the Dayaks will wait at the river with fishing nets to catch all the blur fishes.


This is the lower part of the spillway.


This is the rockfill to hold the dam. It was built by some japanese company.


The water from the dam will flow through these pipes to turn the turbines.

I went to Lubuk Antu to see the one and only whirlpool in Sarawak but the water level was too high so I didn't get to see the whirlpool. From what I've heard, the town was named after the whirlpool. Lubuk Antu actually means Ghostly Whirlpool. Back then, the Dayaks didn't know why whirlpools existed so they assume that it was caused by some spiritual force.

Sri Aman
The only thing interesting in Sri Aman is that all the shops are closed by 5:00 p.m. Basically, it's like a ghost town. Two roundabouts and one traffic light, the end.

Actually, I skipped some of the places that I went like Selangau, Balingian, etc, cause nothing to write about either. They only have a few shops and that's all. And that's the end of my trip. Merry Christmas to you all.

Sword Of The World: Granado Espada

I started playing this new MMORPG game during my STPM exam. Basically, I run to a spot and let my characters auto shoot all these while so it's like half studying and half playing. More or less like an anti-stress program haha.


These are my main three characters. From the left, Scout, Elementalist and Musketeer. They're about level 57 right now except for my elementalist which is level 56 because stupid bitch kept on dying.

I think you can make a maximum of 36 characters in total. There are 5 classes to choose from if you just started playing which is Fighter, Wizard, Elementalist, Musketeer and Scout. Fighter class is more or less like the Barbarian in Diablo 2 a.k.a tanker + hack and slash kind of character. I'm not quite sure about Wizard class but I guess they just cast spells 24/7 like Elementalist except that the spells are more to status attack or that kind of stuff? One thing for sure is they can levitate like David Blaine when they reach lvl 70 haha. Elementalist class mainly focus on the 3 elements, fire, ice and lightning. It's like if you use the bracelet of that element then you can use that element's spells. Musketeer is more like a gunner and it has totally nothing to do with the 3 Musketeers. You use a rifle or pistol for Musketeer but you can use dual pistols when you reach level 36 and obtain the Duality stance. At that instant, you just transformed into the cheapskate version of Dante. Scout is all about buffing and healing to me. They can use daggers or wield dual daggers to attack though but I only use the Scout as a healer and buffer.

As you go on playing through the quests in the game, you get UPC cards which you can use them to make the UPC as a playable character.


From the left, the girl with the hat is Bernelli, the red haired gangster is Gracielo and the one eyed big boobs girl is Adelina Esperanza. They are one of the UPCs that I've obtained. I might play Adelina after my main characters reach the veteran level (reachable only when you reach level 100 and use the Veteran Promotion scroll). Bernelli uses rifles and pistols like Musketeer but she has different stats. Adelina can use pistols and swords/sabres (either one I forgot). Gracielo kicks people around with his legs as if he's the grandmaster of Taekwondo.


From the left, Port Of Coimbra Trooper, Jack, and Reboldoeux Soldier. Jack can build stuff like turrets, cannons, walls and regeneration wards. He's one of the UPCs that are more special in terms of skills despite the fact that he looks like shit. The other 2 are like fighter class but with less skills so basically they are like rubbish to me (some people say the Port Of Coimbra Trooper is one of the best tanker in game or something? But I don't think I'll waste my time playing him.)

So in total I have 9 characters. I won't be creating new characters unless I really like them because one free slot costs 100,000 vis. So I need to spend 2,700,000 vis if I were to buy all the slots. Maybe next time when I'm richer haha. I regret wasting my slots for the stupid trooper and the soldier. I'll update more about this game if I feel like it.
